1 year old

Our little princess is 1 today!!  Can't believe it's been a year already.....Aaliyah is so much fun!  We had her birthday party this afternoon; great food, family and friends!!  We missed Grandma Linda though; she was at home recovering from surgery.  But we're so happy she's doing well.  I made Aaliyah her own little cake to dig into and she really liked it.  Once I cut some pieces, she dove right in!  She got some really nice gifts; a drum set, puzzles, pretty dresses and pots set just to name a few.  We're still waiting for her first step, but it'll happen soon enough.  She still is getting into everything and standing up on furniture.

Happy 4th of July

4th of July was on a Wednesday this year and super hot!!  We decided to skip the parade because of the heat.  We did spend part of the afternoon at the pool.  They had ice cream sundaes for the kids...Aaliyah had a great time! 

First Braids

Last week, I tried braiding Aaliyah's hair...it was pretty hard to keep her still, but thought I did a good job.  Her first braid pigtails. ( :

11 months old

Aaliyah was 11 months old last week.  It's going to be harder to keep up with this blog since I started school full-time!  She's moving fast and getting into everything.  I'll hold her hands and walk with her, but doesn't stand too much on her own yet, just climbs up on furniture.  We just got a princess walker from Lydia, so that should help with her walking.  She enjoys being outside and in the water.  We took her to the Mequon pool and the pool at Elite.  I'm amazed at how much she eats, for such a little girl, she really likes her food!  She's pretty loud too, can't wait 'til those noises turn into words.
