Visting Santa

We got to see Santa twice this year.  First was at Lydia's Christmas program at the Oak Creek Community Center.  Aaliyah was still scared this year, but with mom by her side, she was okay.  A couple weeks later we went to Breakfast with Santa at the Thiensville Fire Dept.  They had an all you can eat pancake breakfast and then got your picture taken with Santa.  We did a family pic with Santa, which I don't have because we couldn't use our camera.  That's the only bad part that we had to pay for the picture, but it was a fun thing to do.

Birthday Party for Jesus

My MOPS group puts together an even called Birthday Party for Jesus at Crossroads church.  I took Aaliyah last year; this year I had to work, but Greg and Grandma were able to take her. It's really a nice event for the kids.  They act out the story of Jesus birth, sing songs and do crafts.  She came home with lots of goodies.

St. Nick

St. Nick came to our house and filled Aaliyah's stocking.  She must've been the only good girl, cuz that was the only stocking that was full, ha!  I still have to order Violet a stocking yet. ( :

I think she saw that her stocking was full.....but not too sure.

Happy 3 months Violet

Violet was 3 months old yesterday....where does the time go!!  She is a really good baby and is starting to get on a schedule; the past couple nights she's going to bed around 9:30/10:00 and waking up around 5:45/6:00.  This is one happy Mommy!  Before that I really only had to get up once in the middle of the night and now not at all....its great!  She is smiling and cooing a lot, sucking on her hands, does tummy time.  I love it when she smiles at her sister, so cute.  I just love my little princesses!

Happy Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving we went to Uncle Steve and Aunt Pat's house.  We had a lot of good food and fun.  Watched the Packer game, Aunt Diane brought light-up balls for the kids and a reindeer craft....Aaliyah loved it.  Violet slept most of the day in her car seat; they both were very good girls.

2 crazy girls

Yesterday I went back to work. ) :  It was good to be back, but of course it was hard too.  I'll be working part-time which is perfect.  The days can be crazy sometimes with 2 kids, so getting outta the house and working is a great thing.  I'll still be able to go to MOPS and take Aaliyah to gymnastics.

Aaliyah started speech therapy a couple weeks ago, which we can already see an improvement with just repeating words.  We're happy we decided to go through with it.  Aaliyah says Violet, it's the cutest thing!!  It sounds more like Wilet, but she's really getting good at her words.  Aaliyah is wanting to do everything on her own.  She picks out her clothes in the morning, gets snacks and goes in the fridge....which is helpful sometimes when I'm feeding Violet. But sometimes can be a mess!  We go to the library and get books and movies.  Right now she loves Dora and Doc McStuffins.

Violet has her 2 month check up today.  She is still sleeping well at night, just getting up once around 3:00.  Aaliyah on the other hand is waking up.  And what makes it hard is that sometimes she'll only want Daddy and other times only me.  It seems when one sleeps good, the other doesn't!!
Violet has been smiling a lot and trying to talk; so cute!  She takes her nuk sometimes, but more important takes the bottle really well.

I know this is from Halloween, but it's the only pic of the 3 of us.

Trick-or-Treat

Aaliyah's first trick-or-treat.  I was so excited to take Aaliyah trick-or-treating.  We dropped Violet off at Grandma and Lolo's which made it a lot easier.  Trick-or-treating was from 4- 7 in Mequon.  And of course Aaliyah didn't go down for a nap 'til 3, so we didn't start 'til about 5 and went around our neighborhood for a little over an hour.  It wasn't too cold starting out.  I think she had a lot of fun, didn't say trick-or-treat but that's okay.  She filled her pumpkin quick.

Love the little heart on the butt

As soon as we got home, she dumped out her candy on her table and ripped one open!

Pumpkin Party

We had the 2nd annual pumpkin carving party at our house.  This year we carved inside because it was later in the day.  Everyone's turned out great, there was Ariel, a cat, mummy, spider and the pumpkin face.  Aaliyah got a trick or treat bag with pez, glow in the dark cheetos and Dora stickers from Aunt Sarah.

Four little pumpkins

While the adults were carving pumpkins, Doc McStuffins kept them occupied for a little while.

Aaliyah wasn't so sure about her trick-or-treat bag.

Sisters

Every time I put Violet down on the floor to kick, Aaliyah always wants to be right there by her.  She'll help straighten out the blanket, give her a book, bunny or blanket and sometimes lay down right next to her.  It's cute but have to be careful she doesn't smother her.

Random pic while dad was gone hunting

Wanted to get a pic of their sister shirts....this was the best one. We'll have to try again

Mommy & Aaliyah Time

Every Tuesday morning, Aaliyah has gymnastics.  This past week, I dropped Violet off and Grandma and Lolo's house so I could spend some time with just Aaliyah.  After gymnastics, I treated her to DQ.  She got a kids meal with chocolate milk and we shared a sundae.  And she got to play in the playland.  It was a fun day!  Aaliyah's great at giving her sister kisses, but is still working on being gentle and sharing time with Mommy.
