7 months old

Another month has flew by and my baby is now 17 lbs...hard to believe she was only 5lbs a short time ago. She went to the dr. yesterday for her 2nd dose of the flu shot and to check the circumference of her head. She is now in the 92nd percentile, but nothing to be worried about. We give her rice cereal for breakfast and some baby food for dinner. Overall, I think she's a good eater; even though she'll try and eat her bib. We've tried sweet potatoes, green veggies, mac & cheese and apples. We're still working on sleeping thru the night....didn't think I'd be saying that at 7 months! She slept thru the night a couple times, just not consistent. She's such a happy baby and everyone says she's gonna be a heartbreaker. I put her in pigtails a couple times, so fun doing her hair. She sits up in highchairs at restaurants now and in the stroller, haven't tried the shopping cart yet.

Weekend with Daddy

Dad had his first night with Aaliyah without Mom so she could have her girls night. I think we both were a little nervous about it; whether or not she would have a crying fit, but Aaliyah was such a good girl. It was just for 1 night and he did have help. He stayed at his cousins house in Rapids; girls night was only 20 minutes away, so it worked out great for both of us to get away. Daddy said she rolled over a bunch of times; which she hardly ever does. And slept from about 8:30 - 3:30; fed her and down she went 'til 8:30. Now that we know he can handle it, mom might have to do another girls night.

Happy Valentines Day

For Valentines day, we went out to eat at the Hibachi buffet restaurant. Mom had some chocolate wine before dinner, yum! Food was really good, daddy ate a lot of sushi and I even tried a couple pieces. First time we put Aaliyah in a highchair, made dinner a lot more fun! She really enjoyed sitting up and eating with us. She made quite the mess with her sweet potatoes. Aaliyah got a Pooh valentine from Aunt Sarah and a play cellphone from grandparents neighbor. And lots of hugs and kisses from mommy and daddy.

First Cold

Aaliyah got her first cold this week. Daddy was sick last week and then passed it on to us. It's not fun when you're sick too taking care of a sick baby. We're going on day 5 and she's getting there, still smiling a lot and playing normal. I called the doctor just to see what they say. The nurse thought to stay away from tylenol. We did give her a couple doses in the beginning and noticed it helped. So, we haven't given her anymore, just keep suctioning her nose and she'll eventually get better. We have a busy weekend. Grandma Judy and Grandpa Pete are babysitting tonight, so we can go to an Admirals game. Tomorrow heading to Sheboygan for a b-day party. It's at a restaurant, so we can bring Aaliyah. Auntie Sarah gets to babysit Sunday afternoon while we go to Julias school play.
