Beauty

Aaliyah loves watching me get ready in the bathroom.  She of course wants to do everything mommy does....I love it!   She's really good about brushing her teeth; even in the middle of the day she'll go and grab her toothpaste.  Her grandpa would be so proud!  It's getting a little harder to do her hair cuz she can't sit still.  I'll just let her make a mess with all her hairbands and I'll be done.

Time for a pedicure....
Cut your toenails

And then file

So pretty with a little powder

I know it's kinda strange, but she always grabs the q-tips!  (I really clean her ears with her baby q-tips.)

This she gets from dad.

Rainy April

I hate that I haven't been keeping up with Aaliyah's blog lately....it' been so crummy though.  I think once it starts to warm up, I can get going again.  I don't have any new pics, but can still update on what we've been up to.  This past weekend we visited Joellyn and Clint in New Holstein and toured Honeymoon Acres.  Clints parents run it, so we got the full tour, it is huge!  Aaliyah had a fun time running around looking at all the different plants, then we enjoyed a buffet dinner.  The weekend before we went to La Fuente with Sarah and Julie.  Aaliyah does pretty good at restaurants, she even had some of moms mango slushy!  She loves to use straws now.
It's been about a week since we've started to ween her off of the nuk and it's working better than I thought.  She still says nuk before we go to bed, looking for it in her crib, but just keep telling her it's for babies.  I just cant believe how fast my baby is growing up.  I know she's going to be a great big sister.  ( :
Here's to a warm May and fun outdoor activities!

Tent Time

A couple weeks ago, I made a tent for her and she loved it!!  It was so cute watching her play in it. She would bring her blocks and cup and of course I had to sit under it too!

Happy Easter

Me and Daddy

Aaliyah and Lydia wanted some jellybeans and chocolate that they got from Aunt Sarah.

Opening her Easter basket from Grandma Judy and Lolo.....she found the fruit snacks!

Colorado Trip

We took our first family vacation to Boulder, CO last week and it was great!!  We visited Uncle Glenn and Sandy.  We went for some walks, out for coffee, lunch, skiing, shopping, butterfly pavilion, carousel and just hung out. I was so nervous for Aaliyah on the airplane, but she slept half the time, and then had her nuk, snacks, stickers and sippee cup to keep busy. Colorado is beautiful; it was great to be outside and get some exercise.  The 2nd day we were there, we got about  6 inches of snow.  We tried to go cross-country skiing at a park nearby with Aaliyah in a sled, but she didn't like it too much.

Me with Uncle Glenn and Sandy.

Playing on the boulders in Boulder.

Aaliyah and Lovecloud playing music.  One night we went to see Uncle Glenn play with his music group.

I love this expression, she does it so much now!  She just can't believe what happened.

At the Butterfly Pavillion on the bridge.

Putting butterfly handkerchiefs up the tube and watch them fly out.

She did so good playing with them and then climbing on the bridge to get them back.

Story time....and there's Aaliyah just chillin with her fruit snacks.

Showing her some butterflies up close.

Observing some insects

Love her face, she was so excited.  She kept climbing up and down these stairs so many times.

Stopped for coffee and ice cream in this old train.

My first carousel ride!!  It was a restored carousel from the 1920's in a small town up in the mountains.

She loved it so much!  When it was time to go, she cried and ran up to the gate to go again.
